We hoped that this DVD yesterday to determine if you wanted to buy the other two in the set.
I had in mind what the critics have said too. The animation reminds me of PBS. And “of course was released on VHS in order to press play, stop, etc are given on a VCR. The animation is not computer generated so some children may be withdrawn at him. It reminds me of some lively reading programs PBS. At least you do not have to worry about fashions. It ’s just a cat in simple clothes.
I am also a certified teacher in a foreign language to pre-K- 12 and I am aware of what is out there for children. I think this is a good extra support-the type of product, but do not want to resort to it only to teach your child French.
< br /> The products I’ve seen, I think this is best for younger children. I’m not sure the age group for the product, but can be used with a child under 4. I do not think you want to go for two, especially with the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations “in the display for two minors.
In the segment we saw, we were introduced to English for the cat , mustache and their parents. Most of the dialogue was in English, so I’m not sure how to work well with a child who had a different mother tongue. Each phrase was said three times with the phrase on the screen with him.
I do not see any young child (2-6) to be on DVD in its entirety without the interaction of adults. As a teacher, I said the words with my daughter and said also some gestures, so I admit all their attention is not on the DVD. I think 5-10 minutes is the maximum that can be expected. It is not a babysitter DVD.
I am looking for another program that has more action and fun activities. For preschoolers who want to learn Spanish, I still like Boca Beth, but it seems the French equivalent. Creed Hop, Skip, Jump and French would be a good alternative, but currently is available in both CD. I was not happy with Beth Manners French series. They are repetitive, and probably only one would suffice. There are some French Canadian children movies, but I can not remember their names. Perhaps Amazon Canada has.

My two years loves your video. The animations are unusual, but are full of buds, color and imagination. The songs contained therein, by far the best part and my daughter I can not get enough of them. The Whiskers lead character, and the rest of the characters, all well imagined and fun. As for the learning experience for my daughter likes to say phrases and sing songs and see what you have learned all the time, and semi-interactive format using actually involved in the story. I personally love this video and recommend it.

I’m a teacher turned homeschooler, and use this DVD with my four children are in preschool – third grade. I think it’s great, but more importantly, my kids love! Everything is in charge of real French speakers, and each sentence is underlined by a voice of men and women. Classes are taught in a perfect size not to overburden the child with the new information. And it’s very well-organized. The characters are fun and interesting, and has done a great job giving them names that use some of the most difficult sounds in French (so have many opportunities to practice the sounds). I have readers and readers of my family and the DVD works for both. The non-readers know that when words are highlighted in yellow, it’s time to repeat what was said. Nobody loses. I recommend this.

Age 4-9 May be off a bit. “My daughter is 2 1 / 2, and she is enjoy. The slow acting and concepts easier to do good for children. Not sure how much time in nine years of age sit in front of it?…
However, this is a good product, which is read by a native French speakers, and written by a Frenchman (none of the usual clumsy, strange word for the translation of words, no one would use in French). One advantage for the first.
registration Bono, and the writing will not help the French parents involved. Explanations in English by a French lady with a heavy — French accent I find fascinating!
The drawings are simple, and in slow motion. It s an advantage to eliminate distractions to believe, but if you are looking for special effects, etc. Not this.
Another advantage is that it teaches the vocabulary is useful.
Finally, song, Frere Jacques and Sur le pont d’Avignon is a good choice, well taught, slowly, with pictures to explain. I do not like the way the guy sings sur le pont d’Avignon, but not the point. Once your children as a couple of songs in French, you can buy a CD of songs.
Cart safe. Good value.

I hope this preview to show this to my one year old when he was older, and I must say I was a little disappointed. My son feels the only French and English father to me, and when we hear or expose him to the media that is designed to teach French, I prefer the whole presentation in French. My husband speaks five languages and every time it was by complete immersion. This is designed for English speaking children to be introduced in a new language with their parents who can not speak French. I was thinking it was a training program in French, such as Sesame Street, in French, but it is not. The pace is very slow, and the animation is dated. I can not see a child who is active or very nervous sitting through it. Still has its merits, I was bored, but I have to revise some vocabulary and the pronunciation is the slowness in search of families who do not speak French. I’m not sure it deserves $ 15-20 with shipping. My son came to my house during the preliminary hearing and loss of interest in five minutes, but with a house full of cats and Frere Jacques as one of their favorite songs, the first lession was rather simple.
